The Riot Scene Newsletter.
Hey guys, we are going to be doing monthly updates just to give you a heads up of what we are doing and any shows we might be playing. Over the past few months we’ve been working with JR Taylor at Taylor Audio who is mixing our EP. We finally received the final mixes last week and are doing some small changes but we hope to be mastering the EP in mid August. Afterwards we hope to start with a Digital Release of the EP as well as free Dropcards with 2 tracks that we will be handing out at shows. We also hope to have a physical CD before the end of the year….(their fucking expensive to make and besides raise your hand if you are just going to drop into the computer and then load it onto your mp3 player).
It’s hard to believe we started recording over a year ago. Granted it has taken us this long to finish this EP, we are very excited to start recording a new EP this fall. We’ve yet to decide on a studio/engineer/producer at the moment but there are a few options. Also, our goal is to try to release 2 to 3 EPs a year but no promises.
We did have two shows scheduled for August but unfortunately both were cancelled due to reasons out of our control. Jimmy will be doing a small Texas tour with his side project, Devils and Dust, at the end of this month so be on the look out for that on their myspace page. We are also looking into doing some Acoustic sets this month. We attempted this back in June with a pretty decent response.
Also, if you’ve had the chance, there is an acoustic demo of one of our up-tempo songs called Sink of Swim.
